Suzanne Martin – Interim Head of Facilities – All academies
I have worked for STEP since April 2012 and I oversee the management all of our onsite catering teams.
I have worked in catering since 2003 and enjoy working with the kitchen staff and being part of STEP.
Our mission is to encourage children to make healthy choices, but also giving them the opportunities to experience a wide variety of different cuisines.
Stefania Cavaliere – Senior Catering Manager – All academies
I started working with STEP Academy Trust in 2013 as a Kitchen Assistant. During this time, I have been fortunate to have been able to recognise my potential and develop my passion for cooking and catering.
My current role is to ensure that the standards throughout the academies represent a friendly and professional dining experience; from our staff as well as the quality of our selected produce in order to deliver a balanced and healthy meal.
Jo Sparks – Area Catering Manager – Applegarth, Beddington Park, Benedict, David Livingstone, Gonville, Heathfield, Park, Tudor and all six East Sussex academies
I have worked in catering since 2006. I started to work for STEP Catering in 2012, working within one of our kitchens at Gonville Academy.
In September 2020 I moved into the role of Area Catering Manager overseeing ten of our South London academies and our six STEP Academies in East Sussex.
My role involves training the Associate Catering Managers to ensure the smooth running of the kitchens and lunchtime service.
I am passionate and committed to ensure that STEP provides a healthy, tasty meal for all our pupils.
Jenny Owen-Ashton – Associate Catering Manager – Benedict, David Livingstone, Gonville and Park
I have worked for STEP Academy for 5 years, starting as Assistant Cook, moving on to becoming Cook. Due to my passion, positivity and commitment that I have shown to STEP, I have now changed my role again to Associate Catering Manager.
In my current role I help manage the day to day running of the kitchens with support from our Area Catering Manager.
I am very committed to making sure the children have a positive lunchtime experience and that they are able to enjoy a healthy and well balanced meal.
