Design Technology

At David Livingstone Academy, we believe that the Design and Technology curriculum should equip pupils with the knowledge to effectively engage with and appreciate the rapid pace of human innovation and an understanding of how technology and good design has the power to change the world for the better.

We want our pupils to develop the skills and knowledge to be able to creatively and practically problem-solve across a variety of contexts, considering their own and other’s needs, wants and values. From crafting intricate models to designing sustainable solutions, our pupils will be encouraged to draw upon a wide range of subject knowledge and disciplines such as mathematics, science, engineering, computing and art. We empower students to think creatively and make a real impact on the world around them taking risks, becoming resourceful, innovative and capable citizens.
