Hannah Smith

Hannah Smith is Assistant Head Teacher at David Livingstone Academy and works as an Institute Associate for the STEP Institute of education, with over eight years of experience across diverse educational settings and a Master's in Education and Leadership. She holds a PGDE, a BA in English Language, and further professional certifications including NPQML, NPQSL and Cambridge CELTA. Her leadership focuses on inclusive curriculum design; teaching and learning across Reception to Year 6; pupil voice and leadership; oracy and debate; and staff. During her leadership within STEP,  she has led whole-school initiatives, shaped curriculum strategy, overseen behaviour systems, strengthened safeguarding as safeguarding lead, and championed high-quality provision for pupils with SEND. Her sustained commitment to inclusive leadership, curriculum innovation and whole-school improvement, built on trusted relationships with pupils, staff and families, underpins her work raising pupil outcomes and developing staff expertise.
